Allow me to take this opportunity to print some portions of the United States Constitution, a document you obviously have not taken the time to read:

“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States…[and] To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.” (Article I, Section 8 )

“Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two thirds, expel a member.” (Article I, Section 5)

That last one’s for you, Joe Wilson.

It is no secret that the debate surrounding health care and the public option has gotten…heated, to say the least. Town hall meetings across the country have been interrupted by people crying socialism, Nazism, and some things too inane to even print on this sacred website.

But I shall not discuss how much I despise and have no respect for the interrupters across the country. I want to single one out in particular.

No, I will not be singling out the LaRouchie from Barney Frank’s town hall.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) decided that it would be appropriate at last night’s town hall to yell “You lie!” at President Obama in reference to the statement that the proposed health care plan would not cover illegal immigrants.

This display was one of the most disgusting, improper, and disrespectful displays I have seen in my years of following politics. During the Bush years, when all Democrats KNEW that the Commander-in-Chief was lying to the American people (challenge me on this one, generic Republican, just freaking try me), not a single Democrat thought it appropriate to heckle the President during a State of the Union or other such address. Why? Because Democrats know what Decorum is. We know that there’s a time to respond, and there’s a time to sit quietly. For the record, a joint session of Congress is the latter. I’d like to say it’s comparable to yelling “AMATEUR” during “Summer Loving” in the Jones Elementary School production of Grease. If you would like to comment, wait until after the show to be an overbearing stage mom.

I call upon Congress to censure Rep. Joe Wilson. As an elected member of the House, he is expected to act a level above the average American. Rep. Boehner (R-OH) knew not to respond mid-speech. Why should Wilson get a free pass?

For the record, Joe Wilson was also blatantly wrong. Allow me to link a few sites that will prove the idiocy of the moron that is former Rep. Joe Wilson:

Claim: Page 50: All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.

False. That’s simply not what the bill says at all. This page includes “SEC. 152. PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN HEALTH CARE,” which says that “[e]xcept as otherwise explicitly permitted by this Act and by subsequent regulations consistent with this Act, all health care and related services (including insurance coverage and public health activities) covered by this Act shall be provided without regard to personal characteristics extraneous to the provision of high quality health care or related services.” However, the bill does explicitly say that illegal immigrants can’t get any government money to pay for health care. Page 143 states: “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.” And as we’ve said before, current law prohibits illegal immigrants from participating in government health care programs.
